Here is a picture of my granddaughter, Hope (written on her stocking cap), with the levee behind her.The most precious things in my life are protected by the government levees in and around New Orleans.

- I grew up with 12 brothers and sisters. Our father was a pastor. I married Janet Hamilton from Star, Texas, in 1972. We have three grown children and seven grandchildren. I worked as a reporter for the city desk of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans. I served on the Roundtable for the Time-Picayune for six years. I received a B.A. from Baylor University; an M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; and a Ph.D. from Baylor University. I retired back near Star, Texas, and am pastor of First Baptist Church of Gatesville, Texas.

David, You are so blessed to have such a beautiful family. I wasn't able to have children because of a botched surgery while living in Florence, Italy in the 60's when I was 25. I know it was for a puroose,and have never questioned God's love for me. One day in heaven I will find out from Jesus.Your sermons have been a blessing to my life. Ann Blanchard
